Complete face with the best drugstore products!

Hello my beauties! Today I’ve compiled a list from A to Z of every and all products that you would need to complete a full face makeup routine. These items were put together through trial an error testing out the best drugstore makeup. I wanted to have a complete list of affordable makeup that would create a very complimentary look for all ages, skin types and could be worn daily. Of course feel free to add or skip a step depending on you routine and what you feel comfortable wearing 🙂 let me know how you like this blog post and if you’d like more! I’m thinking of doing the same for high end and I could do a product list of the makeup fails I tried that didn’t make the cut! Thanks for stopping in again and I hope you enjoy! Don’t forget to check out the continued list of products in Part Two listed on my blog http://www.mommaoftwoshowsyou.wordpress.com

(As always a complete list of products are linked below)

For primer I chose the L’Oreal magic lumi, this product it’s great for all skin types, it evens out the texture of your skin giving it a natural glow, but NOT making you a complete grease ball in the process. I’d compare it to the Mac strobe cream and it’s about half the cost!

Foundation…I’ve got to give it to L’Oreal again their True Match foundation is amazing, I see myself grabbing it over all my high-end foundations daily. The coverage is great (medium to full) and build-able. They have a huge range of color selection, targeting not only you skin shade but the undertones as well. With this product you’ll be getting a satin to semi matte finish.

For Concealer this one was a bit tricky I wanted a creamy formula with good coverage, a nice color selection and that wouldn’t crease. The winner in this battle has got to be the Maybelline Fit Me concealer I personally use the shade “sand” which is a good dupe for Nars creamy concealer in “custard”.

Powder, this one I wanted it to be very universal so I went with the Elf studio HD loose setting powder in translucent. Choosing a translucent powder will give you the setting power without changing the color of your foundation or come off looking too cakey. This one is also a great dupe for the Makeup forever HD setting powder, and with a price point of around 4 bucks you can go wrong!

Bronzer, now this one was easy I’ve been obsessed with the NYC “sunny” bronzer for years, again around 3 bucks or so it’s a great neutral matte shade that can go with several different skin tones. This is great for an all over glow or can be used for a more precise contour.

Complete face with the best drugstore products!

Welcome back below is part two of my drugstore makeup must-haves! If you haven’t seen part one (primer -bronzer) go check it out on my blog http://www.mommaoftwoshowsyou.wordpress.com

Blush, Easy choice I LOVE the Milani Baked blush in Luminoso especially for spring and summer. It’s the perfect amount of corals and pinks with a very finely milled shimmer to add just a little something extra!

Highlighters well these can be tricky I find drugstore highlighters can either be extremely chalky or have wayyyy too much glitter. But the Physicians Formula Shimmer strips get it done. You can swirl your brush over the whole product or focus more on one or two colors to customize your highlight. These are a great dupe for the Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks and about 1/4 the cost. Chaaa ching 🙂 Another good one to try out are the Hard candy highlighters sold at Walmart.

Eyeshadow. The drugstore has comes light years I think in improving their eyeshadow singles and pallets. For an easy one step look I like to use the L’Oreal infallible shadows, they are ridiculously pigmented and have a gorgeous color selection. My personal favorite is “amber rush” this color compliments all eyes colors and can be placed directly on the lid just using your fingers, top off with mascara and you have an effortless but beautiful eye look.

Mascara. Personally I struggle with the curse of snuffleupagus eye lashes they are lifeless and have no curl to them but using Maybelline Rocket mascara in waterproof I see great length, volume and they keep my lashes curled!! 🙏 If you like a more separated look go over the top with Covergirl clump crusher and it’s perfection!

Eyeliner. Everyone is different in their eyeliner preference but for a great kohl pencil thats creamy and pigmented I love the Rimmel scandal eyeliners. Every color is amazing!

Eyebrow products, again personal choice a great drugstore powder is the Nyx brow powder it will comes with two shades, wax and some starter brushes. I use it and love the results but other may find a pencil works better for the taste.

NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder, Dark Brown/Brown

Lip stick, my favorite is a oldly but a goody, Revlon “primrose” its a beautiful creamy pink, a little on the natural side and a great dupe for Macs “angel” which Kim Kardashion made oh so famous lol

Face setting spray, now this may be a step you skip all together but myself I’m obsessed with practically bathing in a setting spray. It takes down the look of too much powder, hydrates your skin a bit and increases the longevity of your makeup…total win in my book. A drugstore product for this would be the Nyx setting spray. You can pick whether you prefer matte or dewy or get them both (Ulta constantly has bogo on their products)!

Circus/Carnival Birhday Party

Hello again my internet friends! This post will be all about my sons 2nd birthday party, better known as TALAN’S CIRCUS EXTRAVAGANZA! Too much? Haha well while searching high and low for the perfect themed birthday party in October something just spoke to me saying circus…..carnival….go crazy, and I did. Despite horrible weather conditions (a monsoon of rainfall followed by a 6 hour power outage) I think the birthday was a success. The yard was a practical lake in the back so I was forced to cram all the activities onto one teeny tiny patio but all in all the baby had a blast and that’s what counts…right? Lol without further or do I’ll hush up and just list the photos! Any and all questions on how anything was made or where things were purchased just write in the comments and I’ll get back to you ASAP! Hope you enjoy 🙂

Cleaning your top loader washing machine. Dun dun dunnnnn

Tags

My very first documented venture would be the oh so lovely top loader washing machine. Well let’s start of this story by filling in some facts, número uno we are renters and have the fantastic joy of possessing used appliances passed down through countless years of previous tenants. Fancy huh? So over these years, 7 to be exact I’m guessing the washing machine was getting a whole lot of tlc. So just a short 18 months later (sigh) I finally got around to it. First on the agenda I scoured though countless amounts of information on the good old World Wide Web and then jumped in head first to find. I about passed out to find what had been lurking in the dark corners of my washer. Please if you have small children around cover their eyes what your about to see will be disturbing!

Step 1: Remove the middle agitator then yell for your hubby to come look at what you found.

ImageImage

These guys will need a good ole fashion soak in some HOT soapy water and then you can begin with the actual cleaning of the inside machine.

Step 2: Set the washer on the largest load and hottest water temperature? Fill with one quart bleach, run on the longest cycle with a soak mid way through of 30-60 minutes. (Make sure the machine is completely empty)

Step 3: Run another load, same settings but this time with a quart of distilled white vinegar and I like to sprinkle in a little baking soda too. While the machine is filling up now is the time to wipe down ever inside and outside surfaces by just dipping a microfiber cloth into the already made mixture of vinegar in your washer.

ImageStep 4: Place all your pieces back snapped together and step back in awe of what you have accomplished.

ImageImageJust think now what a difference it will make, I mean who wants to wash their clothes in a dirty tub of water anyway? This too should increase efficiency of each cycle and help to extend the years left on your machine!!

Thanks for stopping by, please comment with any tips and tricks I may have missed I love getting new ideas and feedback from ya’ll! Until next time muahhhh!

Start a blog? I can do this no problem….maybe :)

Well hello there my fellow mommies (and daddy’s too of course). Welcome to my blog page, and I’ll use that term loosely. I hope you don’t mind incorrect grammar and run on sentences, because truth be told I’m not a writing expert. So why start a blog you ask? Well that’s simple…..Pinterest of course duhhh haha. In all honesty this idea began bubbling in my head on one of those typical mommy late nights, ya know the ones where everyone is peacefully snuggled in their beds but your up awake scrolling through Pinterest plotting to re-stain your kitchen cabinets in the morning. I figured I would love an outlet to share some of my wacky off the way mommy stories, maybe teach a few new tips and tricks and hopefully learn a lot from others along the way. There you have it “drumroll please” the birth of my third child my very own Blog “Momma of Two Shows You” So sit back relax and enjoy the ride.
